All The World's A Stage

This past Sunday was the annual Tony Awards, the theatre community's opportunity to celebrate the "best" of the Broadway season. As I have for the past couple of years, I worked the show as a talent escort. My assignment this year was Emmy Rossum, "Christine" in the film adaptation of The Phantom Of The Opera". She proved to be a lovely, sophisticated, and friendly assignment.

There's something quite special about being in the presence of so many of your peers. It's quite inspirational. The dream becomes that much more attainable. Of course, many of the speeches by the award winners were rather touching and emotional. The following was one of my favorites of the evening delivered by Doug Hughes, winner of Best Director of A Play for "Doubt".

"I love working in the world of Theatre. Safe and dangerous, small and infinite, I am overjoyed to have a place in it."

How fortunate I am to be working in the Theatre.
