Goodbye, Good Goody Girl
I am mere hours away from our closing night performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie in Coeur d'Alene, ID. It's been such a pleasure revisiting this show and this role- so much love and joy. To all those lovely new friends I've made here in the Northwest, I thank you for all the fond memories that I will take home with me. And now like our heroine, time to head back home to the Big Apple! Only in New York....

Ironman and Charles' Mom
So, the annual Ironman takes place here in Coeur d'Alene, ID next Sunday...the same day I fly out. Little did I know that this small resort town is host to this legendary event every year. The atheletes have started to arrive and it's easy to spot them- super dark tans, slim bodies, usually wearing a bathing suit or running shorts and little else. I remember watching the Ironman on TV when I was a kid and thinking how tired they must be at the end. The endurance it must take to swim, ride a bike, and run for miles! So, here's to those brave men and women who will be competing next weekend. You are our true physical superheroes! PS.... I met Ellen Travolta yesterday! She is on the board of Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre and performs in productions from time to time(She's performing in the next show, The Full Monty). Quite a lovely woman! I couldn't help but internally hum the Charles In Charge theme while I was chatting with her!

Sleepy In Seattle
Greetings from Seattle, Washington. I'm in town on my days off auditioning for a couple of theatres here and having a grand time! This is my first time in Seattle and I've fallen in love with this city. It has a great theatre district/community, a lively fisherman's wharf, hip and trendy people, a beautiful downtown area, and some wonderful new friends. Here's hoping I get to have an extended stay here in the near future!

Ross...The Wonder
I have met the most amazing actor/choreographer/drinker/supermodel/drag queen right here in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho! His name is Ross aka. Black Diamond. I like the way he talks. He has a very distinct accent. I can't quite locate where this dialect is from, but neither can he. I think it's all for show. He admits it too. He has dimples to rival mine. In conclusion, everyone should get to know this fine gentleman. But dare not get too close, lest your heart be stolen.
Membership Has It's Privileges!
I'm sitting in the auditorium watching all these young and eager actors work thru our tech rehearsal for the show. God bless them! Our set is GORGEOUS, and huge, and heavy! And I don't have to lift a finger to help them! Well, I did volunteer my services, but being that I'm an Equity actor, I'm technically not supposed to do any set changes. So here I am, finding a lot of time on my hands today...perfect time to catch up on blogging. We had our sitzprobe on Sunday night and I almost peed in my pants with excitement! We have a 17 piece orchestra! That is unheard of in regional theatre, and some broadway theatres even nowadays. What a thrill it was to hear the FULL orchestration back up our vocals! I mean.... we even have a harp! I must say I wasn't expecting much when I arrived in Idaho, but what a pleasant surprise it's been! Can't wait to see all the elements come together this week.... more to come!
